I loved the cozy vibe of this inn! The location is perfect for a peaceful getaway, tucked away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to explore local attractions. My room was super comfy and stylish, making it a great spot to unwind after a long day of meetings. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, which made my experience that much better!
The food didn't quite live up to my expectations. Breakfast was a bit lackluster, and the dinner menu felt confusing; I expected more options for my dietary needs. I also had issues with the Wi-Fi; it was spotty at best, which made getting work done a challenge. the experience had potential but fell short in a few key areas.

I recently stayed at a charming inn for a business trip, and it was a good experience. The building is lovely, located in a picturesque valley, and the atmosphere was cozy, enhanced by a real fire. The service was friendly and efficient, with attentive staff who made my colleagues and I feel welcome. The menu offered a great variety, and I was particularly impressed with the Sunday lunch, featuring perfectly tender beef. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, ensuring a restful stay.
100% Recommend this hotel.

Charming interior with a good Yorkshire atmosphere, the decor provides a warm and inviting feel. The outdoor terrace in the suite offers a peaceful escape, perfect for a relaxing morning coffee when the weather cooperates.
Though the Classic Double Room had nice furnishings, it felt cramped, especially the bathroom. Mornings got off to a rough start with obnoxiously loud drain clearing that could disrupt any chance of a lie-in. Shower pressure was lackluster, not uncommon in isolated spots like this. Table arrangements in the dining room were tight was great but perhaps a little too cozy when the neighboring table was not as discreet.

The inn is in a beautiful rural setting but only a matter of minutes from Halifax and other major Yorkshire towns. The owners have retained a wonderful olde worlde charm without being kitch, and the food is absolutely wonderful. The staff are incredibly helpful wthout being intrusive. I don't think there is anything more you could expect of a stay in the countryside.

Breakfast and dinner were absolutely superb. The staff are incredibly friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are well decorated and spacious. Location is fabulous too.
A summer evening in July and the room was cold. However, the electric heater came in very handy!

Friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food and drink (especially the real ales) on offer. Also, free wi-fi, which ought to be standard in hotels nowadays but all too often isn't.
My room (no, 6) didn't really have a view out but I don't see what can be done about that given the age and shape of the building. It wasn't a major issue for me as I didn't spend that much time in the room.

Our stay was worth it, with a cozy room that was so great and a location that offered super quiet place. The staff were great, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
Hotel breakfast could benefit from a few more options on the menu.

Hidden gem with awesome vibes
What a fab place! The food was really good, especially the meals in the bar area-couldn't get enough. Staff were super friendly, always ready to help. The only bummer was that reception was sometimes empty when you needed it. We had a great time relaxing in our cozy room after long days out and about.
